For those of you who are considering having your child eat school lunches in Brookline, please refer to the text on the Town Food Services webpage:
"We have a new Food Ingredient List and an Allergy Friendly Meal Chart which will continue to be updated. Nearly all foods are prepared from scratch in our kitchens, however our product line is subject to change. Please check directly with Kitchen staff about foods prepared that day, prior to ordering.
We encourage parents to fill out the Food Allergen Form if your child has an allergen."
GLUTEN-FREE PIZZA! Starting Friday October 14, 2011: Gluten-free pizza now available every Friday. You must contact your kitchen manager--no later than 12pm the school day prior--to place your child's order.
B.GOOD BURGERS available every other Thursday.
Note: You may need to double-check items with your cafeteria staff. A reader noticed some errors on the list, such as Bravos Cheese Pizzas not declaring milk. Another reader wrote that the Quesadillas were made alongside egg salad sandwiches.
Need advice for entering Kindergarten? Write to us at broffa@rcn.com if you’re looking to talk with a parent at your school who’s “been there”.
